Creating a beautiful blanket is easier said than done, especially if the existing patches simply do not fit together. Important is a good preliminary work and it starts on the drawing board! Choose your patches wisely and use your tools at the right time to design the most beautiful blanket and win the game.
Patchwork is a textile technique in which fabric scraps are sewn together to create new textiles. While previously garments and blankets were sewn to use existing fabric scraps, patchwork is nowadays an art form where designers use the finest fabrics to create textiles. Especially patchwork with irregular scraps of fabric creates true works of art and is now used by many textile artists.
Patchwork DOODLE is the new game by Uwe Rosenberg from the patchwork universe. One and more players, ages 8 and up, are experiencing a new kind of patchwork. The focus is on a new mechanism in which cards and a cube are used to determine what the next piece of the puzzle looks like. This is drawn by all players on their malblock-like game plan. Special functions and a special rating bring variety into the game. The game comes in a small box therefore suitable for the journey.
At the beginning each player receives a sheet from the block with game plans, a pen (colored pencils are included, but of course also pencils can be used, for example, to correct mistakes) and a random start card.
The start card shows one of ten different puzzle pieces that must be drawn anywhere on the sheet.
Then three rounds are played, which are as follows: From the draw pile eight (or six in round two and three) puzzle pieces cards are drawn and laid out in a circle in the middle of the table. Afterwards, the dice are rolled and the player is moved forward by the indicated number of steps on the cards. The puzzle piece on which the pawn comes to a halt is now drawn by all players on their board.
This is done six times (leaving two cards in the middle of the table). Then the score is scored and the circle of puzzle cards in the middle is refilled to a total of eight cards.
The starting cards and special abilities ensure that no game plan is the same as the other. After three rounds, the new patchwork master will be announced.
